In this contemporary society, you would not think a disability would be a barrier to employment. The reason for this is the effort of enlightened people to overcome discrimination against person with disability. This new shift in perspective is not only in USA but has become a global concern. The jobs available usually offered are Government and Fiscal Management Specialist at the National Disability Rights Department, Computer Engineer at the US Department of Energy, Safety Engineer also at US Department of Energy.
Although the Federal Government have job offers, it is still a competitive area. There are also requirements to follow depending on the position the person is applying for. In this bleak economic scenario the US and world are going through, there are numerous jobless all over the world. Accordingly, it is more challenging for a person with disability to have a job. In spite of the limited opportunity and the discrimination, there exist a community that gives encouragement and offer jobs for people with disability. |

My husband has always been telling me to take pictures of my baby bump since I was 12 weeks pregnant. I felt that it was embarrassing at that time because I always had a flat tummy, and honestly though I could get through the pregnancy without buying anything like maternity tights or other maternitywear - just like some of those supermodel mums! However, I soon changed my mind, and embraced my pregnancy. I realized after reading some blogs on the internet about pregnancy and parenting that this experience only comes a few times in a woman's life. Some of the parents in that blog even say that they miss being pregnant. Since I'm nearing my due date, I start wondering what it would be like caressing my belly and not feeling anything move simply because the baby had already come out. Then I started wishing that I had taken a lot of photos of my baby bump during the entire duration of my pregnancy and not wait until it's almost time for my baby to come out. Now I'm almost in my 37th week and I have finally scheduled a photo session with a professional team of photographers. I'm thinking of giving the photos to my husband as a gift for our second wedding anniversary. I feel like this is a gift that he would love since he has always been fascinated of my belly. He always thought that it is beautiful. It took me a long time to learn to appreciate how beautiful an experience it is to be pregnant. I think that the photos will not only serve as a remembrance of our (me and my husband)sweet memories but also a perfect opportunity for bonding as a family in the future, when our baby grows up. |

The one great truth about dentistry is that you can't floss enough - having seen enough Darlington dentists in my time, this is what I'm always told. If I skip a day in my flossing routine due to a death in the family, a hostage situation, or lethargy, my dentist can tell at the six month checkup. And he won't let it go. I have started to suspect that he's a major floss shareholder or crippled by dental OCD. He's also a master of getting his pro-floss propaganda ingrained in my head when I'm unable to agree, disagree, or otherwise verbalize due to his sharp instruments being jammed into my mouth, along with half of his fist. I try to tell him that I'm a flosser, that I agree with everything he says and that I want to shuffle off this mortal coil with my pearlies intact. He nods his head thoughtfully and then reiterates the importance of flossing as if I were an uppity toddler with attention deficit disorder. I highly recommend him. |

Pregnancy is not the same for everybody. It is an incredibly complex situation that involves changes on all levels of your live. How these changes are perceived is greatly influenced by your particular circumstances. Did you plan to get pregnant? Have you been waiting for years to conceive? Did you have a happy childhood? Are you financially stable? Are you afraid of the future - that it will be a stressful time of scurrying through changing bags looking for nappies and feeding bottles, or will you embrace the changes? The first word of advice to cope with your life turned upside down is ACCEPTANCE. It is critical we have to understand that all the fears, the questions, the uncertainty, the eagerness and the resistance are normal.
