Children are the main concern of our government. They are the future citizens of this country, and therefore they need a lot of care in order for us to have great citizens who will take good care of our country when we grow old. The government has done so much to ensure that. For example, it provides child benefits to the parents who cannot be able to cater for their children well, in order to ensure that the children have all their needs catered for, for better growth and development of these children. We also have such grants as grants for abused children which are given to those who cater for the abused children. Child abuse is in many different forms, and so the grants are issued out according to the severity of the matter. In case of involvement in drugs when a child is in the care of his/her parents, the child is taken away from that environment to a better environment where they are catered well in order for them to stop the habit. In case of sexual abuse, the child is undertaken through medical examination and counselling, and then they are rehabilitated until that time when they can care for themselves.
