My favorite website is Gawker, as I check it daily and use it to keep me informed about current events, human interest stories and celebrity gossip. The website is designed to be easy to navigate, with the most popular and recent stories highlighted on the home page. As a reviewer for a designer directory, I do have some experience in what makes a great website (I usually find sites using Google searches like graphic design companies london to review).
With gawker.com, the left hand column provides access to other articles, providing pictures that often grab the readers interest immediately. Since Gawker covers dozens of stories a day, it should be well organized and succeeds at doing so. For this reason, it has become one of the most popular blog sites on the internet. To gain new readers, it’s integral that the design of the site is accessible and aesthetically appealing. Likewise, to keep loyal Gawker readers coming back for more, functionality plays an important part as the main point of a visit to Gawker is for the instant access to the rounded selection of content.
